Quick Tip, Windows

Windows 10’s “reduce animations in Windows” is breaking websites!

As clickbaity as this sounds it’s true. I was having an issue with the menu on one of the websites I am developing.

The menu would work in Firefox but not Chrome and it did something completely different in Microsoft Edge. This was only on my computer only, on a few other computers, I tried it worked in Chrome perfectly. After reinstalling Chrome multiple times I looking for the problem elsewhere.

It turns out if you toggle “Show animations in Windows to off” it will break websites in the browser. This should not be happening Microsoft it should be limited to Windows animations. I toggled it back on and everything worked again. Its located in Settings-Display-Show animations. Just watch the video below.
