Rasberry Pi power issues
For a long time now I've been having issues with my Raspberry Pi randomly shutting down. I tried all different power adapters PPS non-PPS/Xiomi fast charge that doesnt adhere to any spec and even some 65 watt laptop adapters.
I recently noticed that the issue only happens when I'm transferring big files to the hard drive. The current setup is a NVME via USB asthe boot drive and a 2.5 inch spinning drive as the data drive.
After looking into it a little bit today I see that there's a 1.2 amp limit on all the USB ports and that's probably why. When the hard drive is being accessed its pulling too much total power from the usb ports.
So now I need to decide whether I plug in a power USB hub and see if that helps. Or if I just move over to the mini PC that's lying next to it, that's supposed to be the replacement but never got around to doing.
