Kaffebox Advent Calendar Day 17

Today is day number 17 of the Kaffebox advent calendar.
Today we're brewing Gitesi, which is a Rwandan. Karongi Rwanda is the origin, and the producer is Aime Gahisi. It's a red bourbon wash process, 2025 harvest, 1750 to 1800 MASL, roasted by Lippe, which we had a dud with last time.
This time I pushed extraction further.
Brew Details
They gave their same stupid recipe, 30 second bloom, last pour at three minutes, so nothing at all.
So we did 19 clicks, 18 to 300.
We did a 50 gram, 30 second bloom.
We did another 50 gram second bloom, up to 1 minute and 15.
At 1 minute and 15, we poured 100 grams.
Then we poured another 100 grams.
And total brew time finished at 3:30, which seems well extracted to me.
We shall see how it tastes.
Flavor Notes
The flavor notes are clean and bright fruit, orange juice, honey sweetness, marmalade, layered and complex acidity, silky and elegant.
So we shall give it a taste and see.
Aroma and Tasting
All right, the aroma on this, we're getting orange juice and honey, very, very sweet smelling coffee. This is one of the stronger aromas.
Probably 7 or 8 out of 10 on this guy.
As I continue smelling it, I think I'm actually going to give this the highest rating.
10 out of 10 on the aroma.
This is incredibly smelling. It smells just sweet, honey sweet.
The initial sip on this is just orange and honey, as mentioned in the flavor notes.
And it's really, really nice.
I'm going to let it cool down further because I think it will open up as it cools down.
As this is cooling down, we're getting not super punchy, but nice orange and honey, not getting super acidic punch. Mouthfeel is extremely smooth.
It's clean, it's bright, it's orange and honey.
And it's really, really sweet.
I'm really, really enjoying this cup.
Final Thoughts
As I finish this cup, this was absolutely incredible, blown away by this coffee.
Beautiful for a washed process, punchy enough, and super sweet!
Kind of tasted like if you would take orange tea and added way too much honey.
Absolutely, absolutely fantastic.
