Advent Calendar Day 1
Advent Calendar Day 1

Today is day one of my advent calendar (I know I am a bit late). We are two days off. We brewed a Finca El Refugio. It's a washed Geisha from Colombia, roasted by Palo Coffee.
We used the included brew recipe, 10% total water amount, then 90% one long pour, WDT on both pours. The aroma is an 8 out of 10. It is grapes and caramel. The flavor notes are citrus, hops, grapes, floral, and caramel. Currently, the aroma is grapes and caramel.
Initial taste is as listed. Florally, caramel, and hops in the back end. Don't really taste too much citrus. It's more Hop-y. Sweetness is increasing towards the middle of the cup. Again, pretty grape-y. Kind of hop heavy at the moment.
The acidity I would rate a 4 out of 10. The aroma was an 8 out of 10. The body was a 5 out of 10, which is actually pretty impressive for a Geisha. Still deciding on the sweetness and flavor.
As it's cooling down, it gets even better, and now it just tastes extremely caramel-y, with a slight hint of floral, and a lot of grapes and citrus on the back edge.
Flavor I rated an 8 out of 10, and the sweetness is an 8 out of 10. It's actually really sweet for the tasting notes.
This is just a fantastic expression of Geisha. It's pretty mild, but quite refined, and not super punchy, but really, really beautiful.

This is day 44 of #100DaysToOffload
