Its Up to you To Explain to Normies how "AI" is Making Everything more Expensive!

I see techies in the techie-sphere (Mastodon/Reddit/Podcasts/Youtube) constantly talking about the true cost of AI. Personally, I don't believe people care enough about the environment to actually make changes. I also don't believe people care about other people's work being stolen. Furthermore, the concept of the entire USA economy being built on essentially a Ponzi scheme, which will lead to a larger collapse than the 2008 housing collapse, is apparently too abstract/far out.

What I do believe can make a difference is emphasizing over and over the reason why your consumer electronics are more expensive, why your electricity bill is higher, and why people are losing their jobs.

So the next time someone asks you for buying advice, emphasize that the reason their phone or PC is so much more is because of "AI". Someone mentions the cost of living, make sure to throw in your two cents that electricity is due to "AI" . Someone gets laid off ... well, that might be a bit too far, but you get my point.
