I don’t know why there are so many incompetent IT people, especially in Israel. But there are. Here’s a quick documentation of what happened.
My friend reached out and said that his Surface Pro with Snapdragon couldn’t be upgraded to Windows 11 Pro for Active Directory. I thought that made no sense. I went in and tried activating Windows 11 Pro by using the Generic key and then MAS and hardware ID. That didn’t work.
So, I asked on the Mas if this was an issue with hardware, ID, or if something else was going on. They told me there were no issues with Snapdragon and hardware ID. I performed an in-place upgrade, essentially running through the base Windows installer while keeping all files and apps intact. Since the SFC didn’t work, it found corruption, but it didn’t resolve the issue.
The in-place upgrade worked fine, then I ran HWID, and it worked fine as well. However, we received misinformation from IT people who don’t do any research into anything.
For competent support feel free to reach out.
