I love Ryzen, it has brought a kickass product and much needed competition to the CPU space. My main Pc is Ryzen and I basically have only recommended Ryzen for desktops for the past three years. That being said our shop has just run into way to many issues on Ryzen 2000 and 3000 mobile chips. Mostly seems to be bios, power profiles and sleep state related issues. Again all anecdotal evidence but at this point I recommend sticking with intel for laptops.
I wonder whether the problems you describe affect laptops running *Linux*.
It seems to be lower level issues, but I don’t know enough about ACPI and sleep states to confirm that. I also don’t have a Ryzen based laptop to test Linux with, I’m just basing this on my experience of what we see in our shop.
